Changed database names

The names of the databases used are as follows for new installations (the previous names are in brackets):

  • NoSpamProxyGatewayRole (NoSpamProxyDB)
  • NoSpamProxyIntranetRole (NoSpamProxyAddressSynchronization)
  • NoSpamProxyWebPortal (enQsigPortal)

NOTE: When updating, the previous names are retained.

NoSpamProxy Web App

During setup, the NoSpamProxy Web App is installed as part of the Intranet Role.

Recommendations

  • Due to more precise recognition of file types, it may be necessary to adjust existing settings in the content filter. With the new recognition, file types are assigned more precisely. As a result, existing filter rules may no longer work as usual. If your filter rules are specifically aimed at certain MIME types, we recommend that you check them and adjust them if necessary. A complete list of all recognised file types can be found under Recognised file formats.

  • It is now possible to reject emails if the DMARC entry p=none has been recognised. This must be activated for the corresponding check. See Reputation filter.

  • We recommend adding the filter 32Guards to all inbound and outbound rules.
  • We recommend adding the action 32Guards to all inbound and outbound rules.

Notes

Please note that the "new" TCP proxy is now mandatory. The "old" TCP proxy, which is activated via the configuration file, is no longer supported. See Configuring the TCP proxy.
